Bangalore’s gastronomic circuit

Tired of dining out at the same old places? Here are two new restaurants on MG Road that you could check out.

Tired of dining out at the same old places? Here are two new restaurants on MG Road that you could check out.

Emgees
A new entrant to Bangalore’s gastronomic circuit, Emgees is quickly garnering popularity. Located at the The Shelton Grand, this restaurant is just the place for a leisurely lunch or a quick bite.

Though Emgees serves reasonably good multicuisine fare, it is the Indian cuisine that finds maximum takers. The light, healthy vegetarian spread, complemented with fresh fruit juices, makes for that perfect afternoon meal.

The ambience at Emgees can be best described as “business-like” and the service courteous and efficient. Check out this place if you happen to be around or want to sample a different version of Indian cuisine, one that rests easy on the wallet and, of course, on your palate.

Soul Deli Café
Soul Deli Café is yet another entrant in the long list of cafés . Located in a basement that earlier used to house The Underground, this place offers an eclectic range of soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts and beverages. The sandwiches here are meals in themselves. The soups are equally good. There’s even a deli counter that stocks an assortment of breads , cheeses, and desserts .

Soul Deli offers you the option of dining indoors as well outdoors. Done up in wooden furniture and trendy-looking lamps , the ambience inside has a cosy feel to it. And if you choose to dine out, you have the company of a waterfall that sits at the entrance and lends a wonderful calming effect to your frayed nerves, that have miraculously survived the experience of dodging city traffic and almost nose-diving to nab that parking spot!

However, while the food and décor do remarkably well for themselves, it’s the service that is a bit of a let down. And here’s another fair warning: for a café, this place is certainly not easy on the wallet.

So take a pick of and enjoy whatever strikes your fancy.
